Swollen foot reacts lke clay

My left foot is swollen up to the ankle, tender on top, burns when I stretch my foot, sometimes aches, has a numb and hypersensitive feeling at same time, and strangest of all when I push into the skin of the foot in certain areas, it leaves an impression of my finger tips as if I were pushing into clay. My right foot is less afflictedThanks.
