swollen toes

(3 discussions)

This is the 2nd time within 2 months that I have had problems with my toes.
I have never had problems before.
The first time I thought it was athletes foot and treated it with cream.
It took a few weeks to go away.
This time it’s back, red bumps on a few toes that hurt and are itchy.
The thing is my toe next to the little one is really swollen and hurts to touch.
I’ve now been treating my toes for over 2 weeks and nothing has changed.
Like I said, I’ve never had problems and nothing has changed i.e shoes, socks….Any ideas?
Gout?

Without examining you, I can not say for sure. Gout is not likely to present in a little toe or as itchy red bumps. It also is much more common in men than women. There is the possibility it is a fungal infection, eczema, or even bacterial infection. For a better ide, make an appointment with a podiatrist or dermatologist.
