thigh injury

(2 discussions)

I play soccer. Before a game I may have not stretched my thigh muscle enought. During half time I stretched it and it felt better. During a hard kick to a soccer ball I fell this sharp pain on my thigh. After that I could barely walk and I had a lump on my front thigh.
I could not move my leg because it felt that the muscles were stretching out too much and about to tear if I bent leg.
I iced the area and rubbed it.
The lump is much smaller and I can walk.
I still have a lump on my leg and hurts a little when I walk or sit down. What is the lump? What causes this to happen?

There are many questions that I would have to ask before being able to properly advise you. Do you have access to either a Certified Athletic Trainer, or a Physical Therapist? If so, that is who you should see for an exam and evaluation. If not, then you should first see your doctor, then try to get a referral to a PT for rehab.

Sounds like you’ve pulled your quad. Put heat (better for muscular injuries) on it 3-5 times a day or whenever it’s hurting the most, take some pain killers and if it doesnt help, then you’d best see a doctor about that lump. let me know how that goes.
