Hi I have been battling with nail fungus on my toes nails for about 9 years now and nothing has worked.
I am considering permanant nail removal of my two toe nail.
Is it safe? Or will I get a bad infection by doing this?
Ingrown nail surgery is probably the most common surgery performed by podiatrists. It is generally an in office procedure and for most people it does not require a significant change in their activities, although there certainly are exceptions. Once the nail bed is healed, there is skin rather than nail. Some folks worry that the area will be sensitive, but generally it is not. The skin toughens up.
