I noticed that my big toe on my right foot was numb and thought nothing of it until it stayed numb for a few days.
Now it is spreading to my other toes.
What could be the cause of this and should I consult my doctor?

Yes, I think you should see a doctor to find out what might be the cause. Do not be surprised if you have to see several before someone gives a valid diagnosis. What you have described can have several different causes.
