Top of Foot pain!

I have been in pain for the last few days and am looking for some help. Overview: I have not been doing much physical stuff with the weather around here and am overweight. I often turn my feet odd directions when clipping my toe nails. Issue:I recently have had extreme pain and swelling on the top part of my left foot. It has swollen up considerably in the morning and is very sore and tender on top. Around the same time that happened, I got a series of three spider bites near my inner heal on the same leg that remained red for about 3 days, but has since gone away, so that does not appear to be the cause. The top of my foots is so sore I am having a hard time walking as my shoes hit the top portion and cuase it throb when first sitting down. Generally, the pain goes away later in the day, but if I even brush it while lying in bed or anything, it hurts a great deal. Because of my hours, I have been unable to make it to a clinic. Will this be needed? Is there any chance it is a bloodclot due to lack of exercise? I started a new program recently and outside of making sure I take the stairs at least twice a day to my apartment, I have done nothing harsh to my foot. Any suggestions would be most welcome…although this certainly was a good reason to start losing weight if this was part of the problem.
Thank you very much!Kelly

Without seeing your foot, I can’t be sure, but you might have a stress fracture. The best thing for you to do is get examined and have an X-ray if necessary. Then you will know.
