Torn bicep tendon at the elbow

(2 discussions)

Hi. I’ve recently been diagnosed with a torn/ripped tendon ocurring where the forearm and bicep meet. I’ve been told that although the tendon is still atached but without having my arm in a sling for 6 weeks to imbolize it, I risk ripping it further and the need for surgery. I was told that I should keep this sling on evenwhen I sleep. Is this necessary? Anyother info you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated……

I too, had my right bicep torn a few months back. Unfortunately, while drilling the bone to insert the tendon, the Dr. fractured the “stress points of the bone. After 10 weeks, the bone is not fusing. I have since changed doctors, but no one has seen a case like this. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE OR SINCE THIS BEFORE?HELP!!!!Thx. in advance.Marco
