torn meniscus

(2 discussions)

I had meniscus surgery on my knee seven years ago. Lately my knee has started to bother me with slight pain. Today I woke with sever pain like prior to my surgery. Is the meniscus able to be torn more than one time? Thanks, Mary

I had surgery for torn miniscus 3 years ago I had no PT after surgey for 3 months I am wondering what was the signifigence of the doctor, while examinig my knee, Pushed his thumb down under my knee cap and in between my knee joint causing a great deal of pain and swelling My knee has never been the same He did this 5 or 6 times over a period of 5-6 months gave me no reason for doing it. Is this a proper treatment or exam as I have since got a new doctor who says I need a knee replacement I hope you can provide an answer so I can decide what to do Thank youJill
