HI! MY FRIEND IS 84 YEARS OLD AND THE DOCTOR JUST TOLD HER HER SHOULDER HAD A TORN ROTATOR CUFF. SHE HAD SURGERY ON HER OTHER ARM FOR ROTATOR CUFF AND IT HAS BEEN OVER 2 YEARS AND SHE HAD PHYSICAL THERAPY AND HER SHOULDER IS STILL GIVEING HER PROBLEMS SHE CANNOT RAISE HER ARM AND DOES NOT HAVE HARDLY ANY STRENGTH IN IT. SHE IS LEARY OF HAVING THE SURGERY AGAIN AND IS AFRAID THAT IF SHE DOES SHE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LIVE BY HERSELF AND TAKE CARE OF HERSELF. SHE IS GOING TO THERAPY 3X A WEEK RIGHT NOW. THEN THE DOCTOR TOLD HER SHE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE SURGERY IF THERAPY DID NOT WORK. COULD YOU PLEASE SEND ME SOME INFORMATION SO I COULD PASS IT ON TO HER? THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. Our son, manages a dry cleaners, and was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder. He was told there was nothing they could do but would have to be in a sling and take pain pills for approximately 4-5 days. He is 51 and very active with many responsibilities. What are his possibilities for the future. He handles all the machinery in the cleaners and has complete responsibility. Please advise what he might have to expect in the future.
My friend has a torn rotator cup to the point that she has gone through 2 surgeries. This last surgery the Dr. suggested she may get a titanium shoulder but in looking at the problem closer he has decided this is not possible. She has not been given any prospects for the future. Is there anything surgectly or otherwise that she might be able to do?

surgery on 12/14, going to physical therapy, seems like it is taking long time, is there an average time frame for recovery?
