Two Vertebre Compression Fractures

I have two vertebres that have compression fractures right between the shoulder blades, and when they nerves around that fractured area becomes inflamed, the pain is quite intense and of course I panic and have shortness of breathe. This in turn causes my blood pressure to go up, because of my panicking. I have been fine all summer, but all of a sudden, my back is really acting up and it seems as if I have to stretch my back in order to be able to take a deep breath. The doctor has had me on Soma for over a year to help my muscles and skeletical relax, but I think that the medication is not working that well anymore.
