I would suggest finding out where the Ulna nerve is entrapped. It can happen at the elbow, forearm, or wrist. It could happen after a fall onto the hand. The diagnosis he presents is correct, but I would suggest more active treatment. Chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy, would all be good options. However, the first step that needs to be taken is to find out the location and cause of the nerve entrapment. Treatment will depend on the cause.

My daughter worked for 6-9 months at a very busy coffee shop shortly after graduating from college. She began to experience pain in both arms, which became so severe she had to go out on disability. The doctors she has seen say there is no actual nerve damage. (They administered one nerve function test.) She has been away from the coffee shop for 2-3 months, but the pain has not decreased at all and it’s necessary for her to be on pain meds at all times. She’s been told that surgery would be considered only if the pain persists for another year. The doctor indicated that due to the shape of her arms and other factors that she is particularly vulnerable to ulna nerve problems. It’s been necessary for her to take a job as an admin. asst. full-time, since she is her sole support. What is the best course of action for her to follow? Thanks for your advice.

i have had weakness and numbness in my little and ring finger my wrist and my forearm for 10 weeks now I’m having trouble with everyday things and I’m also struggling at work as a carer,my gp thinks it may be a problem with the ulna nerve but I’ve had no problems with my elbow or sufferered a trauma, he is sending me for nerve conductive tests if its not my elbow or ulna nerve what else could it be and what treatment can I have. I’m also a insulin dependant diabetic which is well controlled and I’ve sufferered with this for 21 years I’m 27 and fit apart from this.
