Use of Chemical Neurolysis

I had a bunionectomy of both sides (including tailors bunion removal) of my left foot over 2 years ago.
Since a few months after my surgery, I have had an extremely sensitive sensation alongside my incision mark above my tailors bunion removal site.
I have also had many of the same symptoms of Morton’s Neuroma between my third and forth toes.
I am wondering:Did this happen from my surgery? Are they probably directly related to one another? And, how numb can I expect my foot to get as a result of chemical neurolysis?
I am very concerned with destroying a nerve I may very well need and I don’t want to have a part of my foot numb forever.
Thanks for your help!

Without examining you, I can’t say for certain. It is possible that you might have a nerve trapped in scar tissue from the tailor’s bunion surgery. The possible neuroma might have been there previously but didn’t become a problem until later. They are most certainly not related. The chemical neurolysis has been used succesfully many times. You should discuss your concerns with your doctor.
