weak ankles

I have a bad left ankle.
I had surgery three years ago and its worse.
I am probably going to have it fused.
It rolls to the outside of my leg.
I was prescribed a support that actually works pretty good but at the same time I was given the viscospot heel supports.
If you look at the supports, they are thicker on the inside which logically tells me it will be rolling my foot more to the outside.
I have experienced bad knee pain after putting them in.
I swapped them and the pain went away.
You think I should just get rid of them.
I was not experiencing any heel pain only bad ankle pain.
Or was I given the wrong heel supports to begin with.
Any correction has to be minute cause whatever is happening it really upsets the balance down there.
