went to MD .. neg-x-ray..now what???

Well I went to my regular DO complaining of intense pain in the ball of my right foot and pain/swelling between/top of 2/3 toes..also arch pain…my DO told me the pain in my right arch could be plantar facisitis which I figured..but recommended an x-ray to rule out stress fracture..x-ray was done monday came back negative.. He recommended no weight bearing exercises (I had previously started a jogging/walking program 4-5 days a week for the last 2 months)…600mg of Ibuoprofrin 3x day..ice..etc…and come back in two weeks.
I feel as though I should have gone to a Podiatrist first..because the pain is still constant..ball of my foot, top of foot near toes and arch(especially after sitting for a short period)..at work I am up and down alot (I work as a therapist)…So..question is do I hold out another week hoping the pain will go away or make an appt with a Podiatrist maybe an MRI will see whats going on??
Thanks 🙂

Since I am a podiatrist, you should expect I would recommend you see a podiatrist. I am suspicious of a nerve problem either neuroma or tarsal tunnel. You might also have plantar fasciitis.
