what is biomechanics exam?

hi dr. you have replied to my question on a ruptured achilles a yr. ago. you mention a biomechanics exam. could u please explain that for me. also could the loss of muscle tone in calf from not being able to move foot cause me serious problems.

    A biomechanical exam can certainly vary from doctor to doctor. Basically, measurements are made on and off weight bearing. Gait analysis is also done. Some doctors may have sophisticated scanners etc, others use observation. The other answer is …maybe- it depends on what you consider a problem. I would think that exercise would help build up your muscle. Have you discussed this with your doctor or physical therapist?
