When can I start rotator cuff rehab?


my doctor told me to do some stretching exercises for my rc injury as soon as i injured the muscle. is this a good idea?mind you that these are non-weighted exercises and I was wondering how much of them I should be doing.also when can i start doing weighted rehab like cuban rotation and dumb bell raises?my pain has improved dramatically since one week ago but I am still unable to put my arms in an overhead L position (as if you were going to squat) without pain.should i just COMPLETELY rest the shoulder? will doing these stretching exercises put strain on my shoulder that would further slow down the recovery process? thanks.


  1. I don’t think it’s a good idea to stretch torn tendons…I say let it rest and ask your doc if you can go see a PT for some real exercise advise.
