I wear nail polish a lot, and I noticed that if I leave it on for a long time it makes my nails yellow.a) what in the polish causes itb) is there a way to prevent it? a certain kind of polish? a base coat”c) how do I get rid of it!!

I asked my manicurist about it and she said it was from the nail polish I use. She recommended using lemon juice to remove the yellowing and also to use a good basecoat before applying your top coat. I have tried this but, I have better results if I buff my nails first with a medium and then soft emery board. Then I apply the lemon juice with a nail brush and scrub them. If I use a good base coat (OPI brand works for me)that seems to help to stop the yellowing from returning, but it still happens sometimes when I wear red nail polish for a long period of time.Hope this helps,Elizabeth
