12yr old son w/ ‘Osgood-Schlatters’

Thank You for your consultation:My son, Brad, age 12, recently sustained a ‘blunt trauma, bruise to his knee during a baseball game fall. The X-rays were negative and the swelling deminished within one week of care and crutches.(M.D. Dx is Osgoods)Soon, he expects to be back to the sport.Question: What type of knee protection, support or strap is suggested? Our M.D. did not have a specific reference.( Brad is 4ft,6in tall and 135lbs.)Any ideas? Thank you, walt
