15 months post microdiscectomy

I had microdiscectomy of L4-L5 disc after acute severe rupture and nerve compression.
Despite all hope and expectations I’ve been unable to run again because I never regained dorsi-flexion after presenting drop foot.
I’ve been through all the traditional therapies.
I was an acomplished runner and ironman distance triathlete, so this has been a life changer for me.
I’m interested in hearing from anyone who has treated similiar conditions, and am also interested in learning about orthotic devices which might enable me to run again.
thank you.

An AFO that has a dorsiflexory assist ( basically a spring) might be of help. A podiatristwho is familiar with a Richie type brace or orthotist can probably evaluate your situation.
