5th metatarsal fracture

Dear Dr. Robinson, I had a 5th metatarsal fracture on my right foot on 9/22/2012. Doctor didn’t cast me just give me a special “boot” to wear to support my foot. The boot is very heavy, I can hardly walk now, even put a little weight on it is very painful. Can you tell me what I should be aware of? How long I will expect to heal? I have a vacation trip in 45 days, do you think I should cancel it? Thanks for your advice.Xia

You need to ask your Doctor this question. He would know. Why haven’t you asked your doctor or have you and what did he say?
