5th Metatarsal fracture

I fractured the fifth metatarsal in my right foot last week. I’m a runner and concerned as to how long it might take to get back to running and if there will be any long term effects of the fracture. Has anyone had this type of break before? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for maintaining my calf muscle while the cast is on? Thanks.
