5th metatarsal pain

I’ve had a very similar problem to sarah (7/30/04)-injury to 5th metatarsal- and i’m currently celebrating my 1 year anniversary of foot pain! Once again nothing on MRI or bone scan and the pain and swelling is mainly at the base.
If it was a sural nerve entrapment or problem with the peroneus brevis tendon do you have any suggestions for what I could do to improve the pain and swelling?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve seen people develope arthritic pain to the 5th metatarsal cuboid articulation due to injury. You may consider injection into this joint. Al Kline DPMPODIATRY ASSOCIATESpodassociatesFORUMwww.podassociates.proboards25/
