Achillies Tendon Rupture PLEASE RESPOND
(2 discussions)
I think I ruptured my achillies tendon. The injured area seems to be getting better, and I have little pain. Is this possible with a rupture, I hear it is supposed to hurt real bad.
I am waiting to get an mri, but I went to an orthopedist he said it was ruptured. I can move my foot pretty well now, and I can walk and put weight on it.
I still cannot raise on my toes with that foot. Please Respond and let me know what to expect or what to do.

You may have still partially ruptured it. It is a good sign that you can walk on it and the pain is better. An MRI will show for sure. Keep icing it and doing some light, painfree calf stretches.

James - Rupture repaired
Get it taken care of. I waited over a month to get it repaired and they had to cut my calf muscle to get it to attach properly. The longer you wait the worse it is. : You may have still partially ruptured it. It is a good sign that you can walk on it and the pain is better. An MRI will show for sure.
