ACL Injury question

HelloI recently sustained an ACL injury playing sports. After reading my MRI and testing my knee for stability my OS concluded that good fiber was still in place and that I would not need surgery. He said my knee was hard as rock and I’ll be able to resume my athletic lifestyle after a good rehab program. He also said many people in professional sports have ACL deficient knees. My question to you… is this true? Will I be fine? My knee hasn’t given out, however, I am worried that when I get back to sports it may. Thanks,Gabe

This is true. However, since the ACL is compromised you will be more suseptable to meniscus injuries. If you participate in sports that require rapid change of direction and this is important to you then it may be worth having the surgery.
