Have you been treated for this problem? If so, how long? What was the diagnosis? Have you seen a physical therapist yet?

No, I have not been treated for this. The diagnosis, in mine and others opinions, was a second degree sprain given the intense and located pain, the duration of swelling and most of all I felt some pops when I rolled it. I have not seen a physical therapist yet, I do not have insurance. The swelling is very minor and the ankle is getting stronger on its own accord but at a considerably slow pace [2 months now since I rolled it]. But as I have written to you before, I do alot of walking in my job and I do not get ANY nights off. I am currently wearing an air brace [but only for the last month, I did not have it for the first month post injury].

It probably would have been better to treat it with a brace immediately after your injury. The period of time that went by before wearing the brace might set you back somewhat. I think it is way too soon to be anxious about this being healed. Without examining you I can’t give you anything but a guess.

So there is nothing too abnormal about this being swollen a couple months later? There appear to be no deformities and there is no discoloring only a slight bulge, would you recommend continuing Range of Motion exercises or to stop and wait until swelling completely goes down? At what point would Isometric or Resisted Strengthening begin?

Without examining your ankle, anything I tell you is simply a guess. Generally, if it hurts too much don’t do it. Don’t overdo it either. It is impossible to know if the slight bulge you mention is going to be temporary or permanent.

I’m 23 years old, I hope this will not be permanent… There is no pain only a small soreness when I wake up in the morning (but the funny thing is that the pain is not in the ankle but the achillies?).
