ankle brace recommendation?

(2 discussions)

I’ve been wearing one of those huge plastic ankle braces (similar to the McDavid Guardian Ankle but bigger) and I haven’t twisted my ankle again. Although it doesn’t hurt (it does crack when I move it circularly) I would like to be able to change the brace to another one as effective but not as bulky (and nicer 🙂 ). I’ve tried the white lace-up braces and the slip-on ankle supports but I’ve twisted with both. I’m looking for a brace with metal side support (or similar). Any suggestions are appreciated.

I’ve struggled with ankle injuries and used a variety of braces and I’ve found the ASO ankle brace to be very effective. It’s a lace up but also has inserts if you want to use them and it has heel locking straps. I’ve found the ASO to be great, it’s not bulky and it doesn’t tear up your shoes like the bigger plastic braces do.

I recomend the AOS brace to like C.D. I use that one myself and it has helped greatly while I’m playing basketball. This is a link to a site that sells the kind of brace that I use. sensored://supports4less.com/medspec/anklebraces/aso-ankle-support.htm
