Ankle pain
(2 discussions)
I have been experiencing some pain and stiffness in my ankles for about two or three weeks now.
It is especially bad in the mornings and if my foot is forced to bend suddenly.
I have been running for about two months at a frequency of about 2.5 miles a day, 6 days a week.
The pain is not especially intense when I am running and does not affect my stride, so I have not stopped running.
Should I stop running, or does it seem okay to run through it? Any suggestions for a speedy recovery? Thanks,Matt

Hi...first of all, how old are you? Running puts a great deal of stress on the joints. It's not one of my favorite of activities for folks to do. Over time you just wear and tear the joints setting you up for problems as you age. Try low impact activities, such as bike riding, swimming...things like that. Have your ankles felt better since you've stopped running? Good Luck, Mya PT
