ANKLE SPRAIN
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU TORE LIGAMENTS? I CAN MOVE MY TOES AND HAVE NO PAIN ON THE TOP OF MY FOOT. ALL OF THE PAIN IS DIRECTLY ON THE ANKLE BONE (OUTSIDE)I SAW AN ORTHOPEDIST HE DIDNT SAT ANYTHING ABOUT LIGAMENTS, AND I DIDNT THINK OF IT MYSELF RIGHT AWAY. THE ANKLE IS IN A SOFT CAST, AND I HAVE AN AIR CAST WHICH I DONT FIND VERY COMFORTABLE RIGHT NOW.
DO YOU HAVE ANY INSIGHT FOR THIS.
THANK YOU

The ligaments on either side of the ankle do not have anything to do with the toes. There are several ways to determine if ligaments are torn. Most experienced doctors can tell by examination that there is something wrong. Stress xrays can be done. A diagnostic ultrasound or even MRI are more accurate tests.Discuss your discomfort with your doctor.
