Hi, past 2 days the outside of my left shin has been sore. yesterday it was ok after a couple of hours but today it has been sore all day. The day before it started hurting I was playing football, didnt get hit or anything but hadnt played for 3 weeks previously. pain is a few nches above my ankle. Hurts when I walk, push my foot down or bend my foot outwards.

Anterior Compartment syndrome usually also has a neurological component like pains and needs or some other paresthesia. It sounds more like a strained peroneal tendon to me but you’ll have to see a doc to get a proper diagnosis and physical therapy to properly correct the problem. If you rolled your ankle or got your foot “pointed for you” during the game that could have created this injury.

    Good luck,
    David.
