The same thing that causes calcification of all the other tendons that insert into bone that get chronically overused- microscopic tearing and bleeding and the body’s menthod of hardening this area up is to deposit calcium.
My Right archilles area is enlarged at the lower part and I have shooting pains frequently just below the bottom of the calf (?top of the archilles) I have been to physio and have several stretch exercises including “raise toes up over a step and lower heels slowly to below step level” and affected foot behind other foot, bend knees and lower body over sore heel (behind one). This has not relieved either the pain or swelling – should I continue with these exercises increasing frequency to 6 times a day or do what?
I want to try a good brace to restrict movement of my archilles tendon while I sleep. Is there a particular brand or area that you can recommend to me to get the exact brace that I want. If it is multifunctional that is ok, but it must restrict movement of the archilles tendon when I am asleep. I look for your response.
