Athletes Foot
(3 discussions)
My athletes foot have become more severe could it be due to long wearing of working boots for some time ( I used to wear Timberland boots at work and at home all day). Would it help if I change to wear some more ventilated sneakers while at home and on holidays?

Fungus love warm dark moist places. Inside shoes is a haven for these organisms to grow. If you sweat excessively, then controlling that is ver important. Use a roll on antiperspirant, such as Mitchum. Socks made with Cool Max help wick sweat away. Spraying the inside of the shoes with a disinfectant such as Lysol can be helpful. I can not say that an athletic shoe is an ideal shoe as most are made with a large amount of synthetics that increase the heat and sweat.
