sciolosis problem.

hello there, im an 18 yr old teenage girl. been thru the yearly back check ups in school and the degree of my spine inclination has been increasing over the years. from 3 degrees to the present 18 degrees. I went to several doctors and each time they tell me “its fine”. but now, after 4 years of check up and the repeated “its fine”s, my shoulder-blade area hurts (albeit not acutely) and my right shoudler is lower and narrower than my left shoulder. not only does it gives me a perpetual throbbing pain, it affects my daily life in a small but significant way because I can’t carry a bag without having one of the straps to drop, or wear a top without having a “space” on the right and not the left. it is obvious. (to me at least). albeit not a serious case of it, I feel inferior and conscious abt my back structure and overall posture. doctors tell me I cannot do anything abt it because I have “reached skeletal maturity” then why didn’t they do something abt it in the first place then when I was like 4 years younger? pls help. im in a desperate and frustrated position. thankyou:)

Chiropractic School

I was wondering how difficult chiropractic school is with regards to the sciences. I do not consider myself a natural in sciences but I do have a good work ethic. Are there plenty of tutors and small group dynamics to aid students.
Thank you vey much.Tim

PAIN FOR 4 YEARS SO FAR – PLEASE HELP!

Ive been playing the guitar since I was little, now im 14, and a few years ago I fell off a bike and hurt my left arm, I never got a diagnosis and assumed it was a mild sprain that would soon heal. but lately, I can’t even play an entire song on my guitar without extreme discomfort and for the past 6 or 7 months, I feel a long, narrow… something, popping all the way down my arm, when I move it. after use of the arm, it pops like that a lot, and then hurts for a while. sometimes the pain moves into my hhand and next to my thumb as well, but the popping is on the side of my arm and sometimes its particulary loud, loud enough for others to hear. it sounds like cracking your knuckles but in the side of my arm [NOT wrist]. what might this be, and what can I do about it?

Back cracking position

(11 discussions)

A friend from a while back would crack my back maybe once a year, which is the time frame I start getting some back and neck aches. He would crack my back by standing behind me and lifting me, but I can’t remember the exact position he would have me put my arms in order to lift me. I used to feel very comfortable because he wouldn’t use brute force. He would lift me and then bend a little backwards and squeeze me. This would make by back crack from the base of skull down to the lower back. So, my question is “which is the best position for having a friend crack my back”. Thank you,

torn ligaments in the lower back

(2 discussions)

Doctors say I have a torn ligament L4L5 area and they can’t fix it. I am using 100mg duragesic patch (fentanyl transdermal system) and Lortabs for bleed through pain. I am desperate, it’s hard to live with the constant pain and I’m afraid that they will try morphine next. Why isn’t there something that can be done to reattach or replace a ligament in the back? It’s done for knees and elbows, why not in the back? Can anything be done without surgery to strenghten ligaments. Please help me.

broken foot

(2 discussions)

I am a 58 year old woman with type two diabetes. The bone in my foot above my middle toe is broken.
I broke it last Friday and never went to the podiatrist until Wednesday because I had no pain, just swelling.
The docter explored the pros and cons with me of surgery and I opted to first see if it heals with a walking boot cast (velcro, etc.). My question to you is, is this adequate or should I also be using crutches.
I am now on Evista and Fosamax and scheduled for a bone scan.
I am desperate to do whatever I have to to get this to heal.
I won a trip to Paris that I have to take or lose on Oct. 31st and I’d like to not have to wear this boot.
I’m also concerned that this boot appears to be to big for me and I don’t know how to judge the right size.
I am putting on a heavy sock to tighten it.
I also want to know what would have happened to my foot is I’d never gone in to the doctor and continued to presume it was just swollen because it was buised inside.
Thank You

Metatarsal

i broke my 1st and 2nd Metatarsals at work by having something drop on my foot. I had a cast on for 8 weeks.the doctor then x-rayed my foot again and said the 1st Metatarsal hasn’t healed properly yet and said he won’t put another cast on this time as it might bond better without one, and not to put all my weight on the injured foot. i’m now on my 12th week and still can’t walk. how long do these things usually take to heal?
thanks
