Bad rehab?

Hi…i’m a flat footed guy who is seeking treatment for patella tendinitis as well as for some medial knee pain.i’m getting foot supports and everything, but the thing is that my therapist is making me do rather heavy weight training especially leg extensions that are actaully not really helping and even cause some tenderness, but she says thats the way to go. has anyone had a similar injury and gone through rehab that can help me with this?

thank you

    Hi

Patella tendinitis or jumper’s knee responds best to eccentric strength training – it is thought to stimulate healing better than the usual exercises.

I have had surgery for this injury and it was not until I started eccentric strengthening that it completely healed.

See on site for more information.
