Bicep injury

(4 discussions)

I was playing baseball, dove for a ball then got up and threw it and felt a sharp pain in my biceptal area. Now every time I try to make a muscle it doesn’t pop up like it used to.

    Dear Sir or Madam
Feb 14 Began Frozen Left Shoulder problem
Suffered most of year. (Am Right-handed )
May 15 Now recovered to about 60-70%.
However now have begun to feel similar symptoms in left arm. But, this time more evident as Bicep / tendon / shoulder pain as source. Not yet as severe as previous left-side problem. But, concerned to try and prevent worsening of problem. Would appreciate any advice.
    Thanks

Hello. About a month ago, I was at the gym, and out of frustration and a ton of injury I guess, I decided to dedicate an entire day of har lifting to my biceps. I did many many sets of stand up curls, barbell curls, etc… My arms felt very tight fterwards, and then I decided to play basketball. I’m pretty sure I messed my arms up from the lifting, however, I’m sure the basketball further aggravated it! My biceps, specifically my left one tightened up extremely a lot. After 5 days and continuously getting tighter to the point I couldnt extend my arm past 90m, I sawe a doctor and she put me on Flexirel and said my arms were just overworked and having spasms. a week later they felt normal again, I even went back to lifting, and did every part of my body except my biceps. Sunday about a week after they felt all better, I lifted very light, figuring to try and work it back in gradually, on my biceps. I felt the pain again and they got tighter and tighter just as they had before and it was another week and a half before they felt normal. Well, I have for a third time aggravated them lifting something and its been another week and half. My question is what is wrong with my arms, and what should I do to make these arms 100% better so that I can start lifting regularly, including on my biceps, again soon.?

71 yr. old mom fell, was told bicep tendon rupture, put in sling & see ortopedic dr. next day. is surgery required? does it depend on extent of injury? If no surgery, how does it heal?

I train regularly 5 days a week attempting to build a better physique. I have been training for about 7 years now without too many significant injuries. However, I have for the last 4 weeks experienced severe pain in my right bicep just below my elbow. I believe this may be my bicep insertion. I have visited my GP who is happy that there are no tears and informed me to take ibuprofen. This I have adhered to and have made every effort to avoid aggravating the injury further by training baround the injury itself. I.e. No back work or bicep work. Can you recommend suitable treatment in hope of me getting back to what I love doing.
    Many thanks
