bicep pain

(2 discussions)

I just started lifting again after a few month layoff.
I’m experiencing the normal pain of soreness after lifting, but I think i’m having a prolonged pain in my left bicep.
My right one is no longer sore, but the left still is.
It is painful to extend the left arm past a certain point.
It hurts on the lower half of the bicep. Did I tear something?

If you did tear something it would be your bicept tendon judging from your pain. If you did tear your bicept tendon, you would have heard and felt a distinct “snapping” sound of the tendon and felt it retract (esp. for distal tears at the elbow) That would have been followed by a large deep black and blue in the bicept area and elbow /forarm. It appears that you have one bicept more tolerant that the other and don’t think it’s a “tear” as you implied. Best of luck!Mr. Cray
