Bone Bruise?

(3 discussions)

Hi, I fell off my bike last week onto a raised curb and really whacked my right shin landing on it with all my weight. The pain took my breath away for a few second and then ached for a while. I had no trouble walking and now have some minor aching when I walk but it’s so mild I can’t believe my leg could be broken. People tell me I have a bone bruise. Other than keeping it elevated, is there anything I can do to speed the healing process. I have many bruises up and down this leg as a result of this fall. I ice it at night and try to take ibuprofen when I remember. I’m trying to avoid going to the doctor if it will heal on it’s own. Has anyone else ever experienced a bone bruise? What is it and how long does it take to heal? THanks, Judy

What you need is lavender massage oil.Get some “essential oil of lavender”Put twenty five drops into 100mls of “Almond oil”If you want to make it aven more potent, add three drops of “German Chamomile”.This will bring out all the bruising and speed up the healing process no end.Good luck. Rob

I was hit by a car on my bike and (luckily!) sustained only bone bruises….However, they can take a very long time to heal (about three months,) could require physical therapy, and – if not treated properly – could wind up becoming a long-term problem. I was in a brace initially and had physical therapy three times a week for a very long time. You’ll probably need an MRI. I definitely would suggest seeing a doctor if you suspect a bone bruise. It’s nothing to play around with!

hey ok i think i have the same thing as you. i however was hit in the ankle calf region with a softball. it was very swollen and hurt for several days. i put ice on it every day for about 1 week and the swelling went down and it no longer hurts to walk. but the discoloration still remains and is tender to the touch but i would reccomend RICE:Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Good luck and i hope ur bone bruise heals properly!
