Brace for finger

Hello I have a boxers fracture (Fracture of neck of fifth metacarpal)and now I am having an operation where they willput a pin in my hand. Is there a brace to wear when I play contact sport like rugbyThank you Dave

Dave, I am pretty sure that you will need to be put into a fiberglass cast; at least initially. So, unless you can play rugby with the cast padded (as in football), you will be out for a while.

hellomy brother broke his finger in a fight. he had it set and had a cast for a few weeks. the cast was removed, and he had to go for a physical where he had to lift weights, etc. he said it hurt him, and now a week later it is swollen and turns red when he uses his hand. he says there is a little pain, and I want to know if it could still have some kind of injury, or if these symtoms are normal in the healing process. I too have a 5th metacarpal fracture. Something is twisted by 30 degrees. The doctor didn’t straighten it, just put it in a splint. I am concerned about it setting crooked and having long-term negative consequences. Like pain, loss of function, deformity, etc.Any thoughts?
