broken clavical bone

(3 discussions)

My boyfriend was in an accident on the 13th of April.
He works for a government entity.
His doctor is not telling him much about the broken color bone, and now his director where he works is telling him to go back to work in 6 weeks.
I would like to know how long it really takes to heal from the accident and what can we do to heal it naturally. Also what else can we expect?

I had a broken collar bone due to an unfortunate car accident. The doctors told me that in six weeks I would be good as new, gave me a figure eight brace to wear and sent me on my way. Seven months later my colar bone has not healed properly and I am facing corrective surgery at the end of the month. My advice would be to see your doctor about it on a regular basis, and if you notice anything unusual, like portruding bone through the skin see your doctor immediately! Take it as easy as possible and rest lots. I hope your boyfriend has a better and quicker recovery than I had. I just thought I would give you an idea of what could possibly happen.

i broke my color bone last spring catching a football. there is not much to a color bone it should replace itself . mine popped back into place when I was asleep like a week after I broke it that is the part that hurts. don’t move ur arm for like 3-4 weeks then start moving it around a little and start going on jogs .around the 5 week mark start doing pushups on the wall and do little exercises with the arm and by week six he should be as good as normal. he will have a bump on the bone that will be there for the rest of his life though. their is nothing to worry about
