Broken Clavicle
About 2 weeks ago I broke my clavical. The bone closer to my neck went up and the bone conected to my shoulder went down. Now I have a large bump on my shoulder near my neck. Haveing this bump on my shoulder is going to greatly interfear with my work as a wildland firefighter because of the heavy packs we where and other jobs duties. My docter is urging me not to do surgery. What are the general ristks of this surgery? Are there other questions I should be asking my doctor?

My son took a hit while playing hockey. He has some pain at the joint of the sterum and breast bone? The doctor said it was like a sprained ankle. No x-ray was taken. It sometimes gives him pain. Should I have it x-rayed or will only time and maybe excerise work?
