broken little toe?

(3 discussions)

I knocked by little toe yesterday on a corner of a doorway.
I could not put it to the ground yesterday. Today it is swollen and my foot has gone a light shade of blue from the little toe accross towards the big toe.
Today I can walk somewhat on my heel but can not put my foot to the pain.
It has been throbbing all night.
Could this possibly be broken?
What is the treatment if any?

From the description you give, it is likely that your toe is broken. An x-ray is necessary to confirm the diagnosis. Treatment may vary from simply splinting to even wearing a cast boot.

Dr. Abrams, over a month ago I jammed my little toe on a corner while running through my kitchen. After about three days the whole right side of my foot became very bruised and the toe was very swollen. Although the bruising is mostly gone my toe is still swollen and it hurts to where shoes. I find myself limping and have noticed that it is putting a strain on my ankle and back. I have heard that there is nothing you can do for a broden baby toe. I have some nice boots and shoes that I would like to start wearing again. What do you suggest?

I did that as well a couple of days ago, with the same symptoms so I went to the doctor, he said just to rest it and strap it to the next toe…Maybe you should go to the doctors
