I have had an operation to insert a tibial nail in my leg following a football tackle that broke my tib and fib ! How long will it take to fully recover from this type of surgery to the point of playing football again ? It has been 15 months since the opertaion and i still have great trouble twisting and turning ? It feels like i will never get back to full fitness !Please help !

Tibial fractures have historically been one of the most difficult fractures to heal, once fractured. Some profressional athletes have ended many a promising career after this type of injury. You may want to see your orthopedic surgeon and discuss your future plans, are you playing football professionally? etc. It sounds your injury was quite serious and your leg may never be back to the way it was (this depends on the type of fracture sustained). My best advice is to see your specialist and get a few opinions on your progress thus far and discuss your plans and goals after such a serious injury.
