Broken Tibia & Fibula

(3 discussions)

Dear Doc, I am 25 yrs of age with good health. 2 months ago I met an accident in which I got my hip dislocated as well as broken tibia and fibula. My doc says it’s an oblique fracture at one point in each bone.At this moment I have got external pins in my leg beacause I also had some soft tissue damage also. in my leg. In last checkup my doctor said that the wounds are dry now and healed up so I can start with little weight bearing also. I want to know when will this fracture healup fully. When can I get this pins out of my leg, and how much time it will take me to get back to routine life. Also please suggest me some Do’s and Donts

i don’t know if you already know but it can’t hurt to tell you, about vitamins to like cal matrix, and be sure to maybe use sports tape and maybe some kind of support when you run or walk .. don’t go do anything without support of your bones. your diet plays a big role, to high protien of diet may cause dehydration, and kidney disease in the long run… good lookmy son is only 13 and plays midget football and after a play a player fell on his leg and he broke his tibula and fibula his leg broke backwards…… So I’m trying to do some research my self on the dos and don’ts ….good luck
