broken toe

I have broken both of my little toes sooo many times that they finaly did surgery because they were deformed. Well last night I think I may have broken the middle toe on my right foot. When I broke my little toes it hurt, but nothing like this pain.
It is a little swollen, but there is no bruising.
It hurts severely to walk!!!
It’s difficult to put any pressure on the right foot.
I can’t decide if I should go to the doctor or not.
Family and friends tell me that all they will do is give me something for a pain and maybe wrap the toe.
But it really, really hurts.
Should I go to the doctor or just “buddy” tape it myself.

little more info on possible broken toe…… I am only able use that foot by putting pressure on the heal instead of other parts of the foot. Toe feels a little numb, but mostly it just HURTS!! It’s hard to explain exactly how it happened, but the toe kind of bent sideways. Now I can’t bend it with out excruciating pain.

Last night I stubbed my fourth toe on my right foot really hard on the corner wall coming out of my bathroom. Later, I noticed that there was bruising all around the toe. What are the signs to tell on whether I broke my toe or if I just sprained it? Thank you.Christi Casey
