bruised toenail

About a month ago, I noticed the nail on my big toe was turning black and blue.
I did not remember any injury, although I suspect now it was from wearing uncomfortable shoes for a long time one evening.
There isn’t really any pain, but the area around the nail bed is the worst.
So far, it doesn’t look like the nail is coming off, but I can’t be sure.
Also, it doesn’t seem like the nail on that toe is growing much, if any.
Is there anything I need to be doing and is it likely my toe nail will fall off?
