I have gone through physical therapy with no improvement. I have been going to pain management and have had one injection that lasted three days. I had an injection yesterday. I am somewhat relieved of pain but not completely. I asked pain management about seeing a chiropractor and they said that at my age (75) it was not advisable. If this injection lasts a while, I’ll be happy otherwise what are my options?

The inside of your discs contain a gel like substance. When too much pressure is put on the disc sometimes the gel substance starts pushing on the outside of the disc which is a hard shell and makes it buldge out. This can cause it to push on a nerve and cause pain. The gel like inside of the disc can also squish through a crack in the outside shell and push on a nerve. That would be a herniation like I had. It can also come from just aging and no unusual stress on the discs but normally it’s from lifting something too heavy or even poor posture and bending of the spine over the years that causes it to push out.

Hello I was just told I have 3 buldgeing disks. and it would take 6 to 8 weeks to heal. the dr. said its not hitting any nerves, but,my right arm hurts. I also tire very easy. Not like me at all. This is a new one on me. I can’t even figure out what I did. The Dr. also said I have some arthritis. This is so dumb. I’m to young for this, I’m only 47. I live in a very cold climate too.
