burning in lower back

(3 discussions)

About one month ago at work.
I pulled a muscle while pulling a patient over to a cart.
I work 12 hour nites in an icu.
I started to have muscle spasms and was being treated with anti infalmatory’s and muscle relaxants. Now for the past one week I began to have terrible burning in my lower back into my sacral area.
I have no radiation of pain any wear nor do I have any change in bowel habits.
My question is What else can be done for me? Also should I be having any testing to see what is going on?
It’s driving me crazy.
I have the burning from the time I get up to the time I go to bed.
Thanks.

I can only tell you of my experience. When my daughter was a baby I would get lower back pain which was hot, like inflamed. It would go away but always came back as my daughter got heavier to lift. I spent lots of money on physio, chiro etc before I got real results. I went to an Osteopath who said one joint was cast iron tight and not moving, it took about 6 months to get it going again. I seem susceptible to this trouble as I now have it elsewhere but at least I know what treatment to have. Good luck.

Mary, I was diagnosed to have a buldging disck at L5-S1 area.. I had a lot of pressure and burning in my extreme lower back for about a week or so. I would go to docttor to get it checked out. : :
