With the exception of the burning shoulder (my burning spot was in my right hip) your symptoms mimic mine after my neck injury. I have a lot of other thing going on as well though. Have you had x-rays taken by Doc or Chiro? If yours are anything like mine, this is typical (I’m told) of a whiplash injury. This can happen for other reasons than a blunt hit (like mine) or a car wreck type “whiplash” as we traditionaly think they come about. If your Chiro has not taken x-rays, I’d request them. How long have you been going? This can take a while to straighten out but as I was told, when I was not getting results, if you don’t feel any different after a couple of months it may be time for a new Chiro. There are many different methods of chiropractic techniques and they are not all right for every condition or for every person. I was getting progress but very slowly from my second Chiro who practiced manual adjustment techs. When I moved, I had to find another Chiro. He practices with an activator tool and uses a technique called SOT which I am told is ideal for a neck problem. I think I am getting faster results now, but will still be under treatment with regular massage therapy for awhile. The activator tool doesn’t cause the stress to my muscles that I experianced after a manual adjustment and allows the Doc to get good movement every time, whereas using the manual method my muscle tension sometimes only allowed me a partial adjustment (only one side). This is just what was best for me and might be different for you, but I wanted to tell you there are options. Also, there was a suggnificant difference in how long I would keep an adjustment and a decrease in spasms and tension once I started seeing a massage therapist regularly. I like to go the day before an adjustment to get good and loose. There was much less resistance after a massage when I was getting manual adjustments. There are different kinds of massages as well, I would not attempt to go too deep until you have had a few and gotten used to it – your muscles and pressure points will be tender at first. Once you go deeper, hitting pressure points can produce some pretty good panges, but if you can bare it, is well worth it. The discomfort is very temporary, and if done right the pain stops the second the pressure is released. I am just a patient who has tried a few thing, been to a few Doctors and a few Chiropractors with the same kinds of symptoms you are discribing. This is what I have done for myself. If you find a method or treatment that gets you well more quickly than what I’m doing let me in on it. Like I said this seems to be getting somewhere, but not too fast. There may not be any shortcuts, but maybe so.
