Burning top of shoulder

Last week I turned a corner in the hallway and smacked my right shoulder on the corner, didn’t start hurting right away. That night I had a burning sensation at the top of my shoulder, and along the muscles from my shoulder to my neck. The last few days it’s gotten worse and radiates this burning feeling down into my upper arm and still up to my neck. I have a hard time finding a position to sit or sleep that doesn’t aggravate it, nothing seems to relieve it. I have a dr. appt. tomorrow, but am curious what I did. Any ideas? I seem to be able to rotate it in any direction without worsening the pain/burning, it’s just a constant. Thanks for any ideas.
