Calf muscle

(3 discussions)

Almost three months ago, I had gone to the gym after my morning run after I had used the leg press weight machine. The back of my leg (behind the knee) felt strained the next morning I went out to run and I felt an extremely sharp pain up the back of my calf muscle. After that I have not been able to run because of the pain. Walking uphill, or speedwalking is out of the question, and also results in feeling that sharp pain. At first it was extremely painful to walk. I have only been able to walk at a normal pace since. I am wondering if I tore my calf muscle? If I did, How long do you think it will take to heal? What should I do in the meantime? How should I rehabilitate my leg to be able to run again?

I went to the docter and he didn’t even look at it and told me that he thinks it’s/ a muscle tendon problem and never really told me what it was. He did sign me up for physical therapy. We will see how that goes I am really hoping it will help. It has now been almost 5 months and I still can barely walk. So it really is frustrating.I will let you know if physical therapy helps.

Have you had a proper diagnose of your Leg press injury? I have a very similar injury from leg press use. I also had just finnish a light run (1/2 mile warm up).

My regular MD just looked at it and said that must of really hurt.

I’ve had allot of swelling and pain. I can’t put pressure on my toes or walk normally.

Blood has settled in my foot. Did you have any bruising?
