Can i get an injection to numb the pain?
I have a strained thigh muscle. I’m hopeing to run on sunday for money and was wondering if i could get an injection or something to numb the pain a bit. Its not a bad strain but just enough to stop my competing properly.
You hear about PRO athletes getting legit injections for pain before a race. So will this likely be available for myself?
Thanks

Athletes get cortisone shots to reduce pain as a last resort if nothing else is working and if after several months the injury is still a problem. The shots have side effects, including sometimes permanently weakening joints.
I’m not a doctor but I’ve had many sports injuries over the years. If I were you, I’d ice the area often and get phsyical therapy
